Due to my experiences (Laura) in the research field and interactions with scientific enterprises, I felt compelled to create illustrations that may help individuals convey their message.
Schistosomiasis (parasitic disease caused by blood fluke) may be a bit obscure to some of you, but it’s a personal favorite since I worked in a schisto lab for a number of years. According to the WHO factsheet, over 230 million people require treatment for schistosomiasis yearly.
Multidrug resistance (MDR) is a problem across the board in treating various infections and diseases. The illustration demonstrates the efflux, kicking out, of the drug from its target.
Microcentrifuge tubes (eppendorf tubes) are used in many different laboratories.
